I ventured down to Sommerville and Nutley, New Jersey to race my first 'Big' junior races. I was too late for signup the first day so I ended up spectating. Having done very well in local races I was disappointed I couldn't race. Long story short . . . I watched a young junior bike racer named Lance Armstrong along with Johnas Carney lap the field twice!! In a 25 mile race. They both rejoined the peloton near the end of the race just so they could win the field sprint. Which they did. I didn't enter the next day either. Lance and Johnas repeated their dominating performance of the day earlier. Lance Armstrong was on an entirely different level, even as a 17-18 year old. He still is. 7.favorite bike tip It's not the bike it's the rider.
