The Devil's Gear isn't just a bike shop. We're also a place where cyclists of all ages and interests meet, build community and find new avenues to promote cycling culture.
We're proud supporters and participants of New Haven's Critical Mass, Elm City Cycling and the GO-alition, a New Haven-based advisory group that works with municipal government on issues around cycling safety.
We're privileged to teach a summer bike repair and bike safety class to youth in LEAP, (Leadership, Education, and Athletics in Partnership), a summer program for low-income, at-risk youth in New Haven.
The International Festival of Arts & Ideas and New Haven's City Wide Open Studios look to the shop to bring together artists, cyclists, art enthusiasts and volunteers every year. And the rides just keep getting bigger.
Every Autumn we map out and lead guided tours
for The City Wide Open Studios.
It is an art opening on wheels, visiting 6 or 7
local artist at their place of creation .
